i found an essay that my grandma wrote when she was in high school on a typewriter about that poem. It’s from 1949.
she wrote “Too often we mortals make ‘snap’ judgments taking in to consideration only external appearances, and how foolish we feel when some one comes along and points out the hidden qualities we have missed.”
